Mindfulness for Kids

“If every eight-year-old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation.”  Dalai Lama

Mindfulness is the practice of noticing your thoughts and feelings and allowing them to pass by without judgement.  Academic research has shown the positive impact that mindfulness has on children.

Benefits of mindfulness include:

  • Improved focus and attention.

  • Cultivates better emotional regulation.

  • Reduces stress and anxiety.

  • Regulates the body and mind.

  • Improves self-esteem and builds healthy habits.

Introducing children to mindfulness techniques can help them cope better with stress and grow living healthier lives. If we can plant the seed of meditation in children at an early age, this becomes a lifelong practice for them.
